South Korean collaboration with Tuida
After our successful trip to Seoul for the Performing Arts Market (PAMS) in October, we are heading back to Korea.
December will see the first phase of Snuff Puppets' collaboration with the performance group Tuida. Snuff Puppets and Tuida will run a People's Puppet Project workshop together with the local community in the rural village of Hwacheon. The workshop collaboration is the first step in making a new work to tour together with Tuida in 2011.
See our workshop photos on Facebook.

Snuff Party is be a night of entertainment and artistic experiment - loosely based on the Human Body; inside and out, literal, metaphorical, metaphysical, magical and shocking. Come and celebrate with us. Be entertained, enlightened, dance, drink, fall over, laugh, cry, be a puppet for a minute or the night.
We're showing our work-in-progress from a recent creative development lab as we open our doors to be part of Open Studios www.openstudiosinthewest.net. Also featuring special guests with surprising acts. Bar, party and dancing on until the wee hours. The world is your Snuff Puppet.
Experiments start at 8pm $10/$5 (conc.) on the door

Snuff Puppets are heading to Kaohsiung, Taiwan, to our People's Puppet Project with a group of Taiwanese artists. In a joint collaboration, Snuff Puppets and Kaohsiung artists will design, build and perform with their own puppets.
Our efforts will culminate in a series of outdoor giant puppet performances as part of the 2010 Kaohsiung International Puppet Festival. Check out our Facebook page for updates on the ongoing puppet building and rehearsal process. www.facebook.com/snuffpuppets
Go forth and parade…
… then after our hard efforts in the workshop, The Boom Family will also be dropping by Kaohsiung, en-route home from their visit to see the Danish Queen Margrethe in Aarhus.

And more excitement than one family can handle... the Boom kids will be on their best behaviour as they round up to meet the Queen at the Aarhus Festival opening celebrations…. maybe even Princess Mary will stop by to give Grandpa a kiss?
Following the opening the waltz the Boom Family and our hoofing Cows create corruptible carnage around the showgrounds over 10 days of festivities. You can catch them romping around the both the Aarhus and Skanderborg Festivals.

Snuff Puppets are driving our workshop vehicle to Denmark to design and construct spectacular giant puppets with local artists. A two-week People’s Puppet Project workshop is being held at the Peter Sabroe School in Århus.
The 30 workshop participants are a bunch of young local artists who will collaborate with Snuff Puppets. Together we'll design, build and concoct a giant puppet theater work.

On the loose our those naughty Boom kids and with their dozy Grandpa trailing closely behind. And across the square you'll find rampaging Cows and their flirtatious line dancing Cowboy who's likely to snuggle up with Mum if you give him half a chance.
Roll up for a night of the weird and wonderful when the doors to the Burton Club swing open. Featuring Snuff Puppets own ghastly skeletons plus the fast-paced rhythms of Johnnie and the Johnnie Johnnies and Zombie hula hoopers Hoopnotised.
Take a peek at Tim Burton: The Exhibition at ACMI then head to the Burton Club for free entertainment. What more could you ask for?

Head to into the city in July for an explosion of shameless Snuff Puppet shenanigans. Dressed up like a bull that’s won first prize at the show, is the bootlicking line-dancing Cowboy parading his herd of life-sized cows round the square. An awkwardly shy though curious bunch, don’t be surprised if the cows let themselves loose….
Come the meet the Boom Family – meddlesome Mum and dawdling Dad are taking the kids, Scotty and Kelly, out on the town but while Grandpa’s determined to dilly-dally around they’ll be getting no place fast.
See you there from the 5th - 11th July, checkout Puppets at Fed Square.
Roaming the streets at the Shanghai World Expo is the world-traveled Snuff Puppets’ Boom Family. It’s a timely holiday for the family who are coming out of retirement to entertain the crowds.
Closely following the Booms are those pestering giant seagulls followed by a clambering herd of life-sized cows. Puppet madness and mayhem are sure to ensue.
